Another dies of Dengue in Rangpur

This is the third dengue-related death in RMCH after the recent outbreak.

A young man has died of dengue at Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) on early Tuesday.

The deceased, Mahtab Uddin, 24, is hailed from the Birol Upazila of Dinajpur.

Dr Saiduzzaman Rubel, associate professor of Medicine Department of RMCH, confirmed the death.

He said Mahtab was admitted to the RMCH on August 18 from M Abdur Rahim Medical College, Dinajpur with dengue.

He was moved from ICU to the dengue ward on Monday after showing some signs of improvement.

“But after midnight he suddenly started to experience convulsion leading to breathing problem and died at 2 am,” he added.

This is the third dengue-related death in the hospital after the recent outbreak.

Earlier, on August 6 a minor named Riana, 3, resident of Gaibandha’sPalashbari and on August 11 Monirul Islam, 32, a cloth trader from Lalmonirhat died here suffering from Dengue.

Both of them were admitted to RMCH after returning from Dhaka.
