Arnab filed the case on Friday night under the Digital Security Act

Another case has been filed against Dhaka University Central Student's Union (Ducsu) Vice President (VP) Nurul Haque Nur last night under Digital Security Act.

Arnab, the publicity secretary of Dhaka University's Jagannath Hall Chhatra League filed the case against Nur and Quota Reform movement leader Rashed Khan over defamatory social media posts.

"Arnab filed the case on Friday night under the Digital Security Act," Abdullahil Kafi, ADC of Dhanmondi Zone told The Business Standard.

In the case statement, the plaintiff claimed that Nur and his followers spread rumors using Facebook and other social media platforms several times that destabilized Dhaka University and other educational institutions.

On December 26, a former Dhaka University Chhatra League leader filed a case against 29 people, including VP Nur, accusing them of "attacking" him.

Another case was filed on the same day against Nur and 28 others over theft and attempt to murder Muktijuddho Mancha men.

On December 22, a section of Muktijuddha Mancha activists allegedly carried out an attack on Nur and his followers inside his Ducsu office on the Dhaka University campus.

Nur has been attacked multiple times allegedly by leaders and activists of ruling Awami League's student organisation Chhatra League since he came to prominence in 2018 as a joint-convener of Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Adhikar Sangrakshan Parishad, which led the Quota Reform Movement across the country.
