AL will resist BNP’s hartal: Hanif

Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said "BNP has announced this undemocratic hartal to hide their failure."
Terming the hartal to be against the people, he added that the Awami League would be "on the field" to resist any unpleasant event.
Earlier tonight, BNP rejected the Dhaka North and South City Corporations' elections and called daylong hartal for Sunday in Dhaka city in protest against what they said "anomalies in the polls".
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam made the announcement at a press briefing at party's Naya Paltan office.
