Emerging writer Ahsan Tarun's new book "Bhabnakheya," a collection of short stories, was recently published.
The cover of the book was unveiled at a programme organised at a restaurant at Agrabad area in Chattogram on Wednesday evening.
Rashed Rouf, associate editor of Dainik Azadi Badal Syed attended the programme as the chief guest. Meanwhile Mohammad Akbar Hossain, commissioner of Chattogram Customs, Excise and VAT; poet Mohammad Mushfiqur Rahman joint commissioner of Chattogram Customs, Excise and VAT; Chittagong University Professor M Monirul Hasan; and Dr Obaidul Karim were also present as special guests.
Author Ahsan Tarun shared his memories about the unveiling of his first book.
Speakers at the event said that books are like one's own child. The feeling of publishing the first book is different. Although it is the first book of writer Ahsan Tarun, the book "Bhabnakheya" reveals various aspects of the society.
They said a writer has to read a lot before becoming a writer, because publishing a book is not the main thing. It is also necessary to engage the reader in the writing. Authors do not write targeting the book to be discussed.
Therefore, the speakers emphasised the importance of continuing the practice of writing.
