The ACC has filed 56 cases over the loan scandal so far

Lawmaker Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh says the chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) should resign for not charging BASIC Bank's former chairman Sheikh Abdul Hye Bacchu in any of the cases filed over the bank's loan scam.

Despite the directives of the Appellate Division to include Bacchu's name in the charge-sheets of the cases, the ACC has not charged him in any cases, said Taposh.

The ACC has filed 56 cases over the loan scandal so far.

Taposh made the comments to reporters on the Supreme Court premises today.

He said the commission should file a case against Bacchu and interrogate him.

Different reports of the Parliamentary Standing Committee have also indicated that Bacchu was involved in the bank scandal, Taposh added.
