In a Facebook post she said, “Abrar may not have been officially a member of Chhatra Shibir, but his thoughts and behaviour reflected their ideology.”

When the whole country is angry over the brutal murder of 21-year-old Buet student Abrar Fahad, exiled writer Taslima Nasrin had something else to say about it.

In a Facebook post she said, "Abrar may not have been officially a member of Chhatra Shibir, but his thoughts and behaviour reflected their ideology."

She also seemed to defend the killers because she said, "I believe the people who beat him up did not intend to kill him. He had injuries on his head, so he died."

Taslima Nasrin added, "A 21-year-old praying five times a day is not a good quality, it is a bad one. Abrar was not a gifted student but a studious one."

She compared Abrar to the Holey Artisan bomber Nibras Islam, and said that even though Abrar was a student of engineering, he held outdated beliefs.

At the end of the post, she said Shibir members also deserve to live, and demanded punishment of the killers.
