Schoolboy hacked to death by classmate

An eighth-grader was hacked to death allegedly by his classmate at Charkhuta Morr area in Rajshahi on Thursday.

The victim is Imon Hossain, 14, son of Abdus Salam of Kashiadanda.

Imon was a student of Yusep Momena Bongsho School.

Mansur Ali Arif, officer-in-charge of Kashiadanda Police Station, said there was a quarrel between Imon and Hridoy during the school hour. At one stage Hridoy stabbed Imon with a knife leaving him critically injured. Imon was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital later and succumbed to his injury around 8:00 pm.

Police arrested four of his classmates including Hridoy, 15, Imon, 19, Antor, 14, and Hanif, 14, in this connection.
