8 Bangladeshis return after serving jail in India

Eight young Bangladeshi girls returned home through the Benapole checkpost on Tuesday night after serving two years in an Indian prison.

The Border Security Force (BSF) handed them over to Benapole Immigration Police and Border Guard Bangladesh through Petrapole, said Nayeb Subedar Atier Rahman of Benapole ICP BGB camp.

The girls have been identified as Mim Akter, 17, Moni Akter, 19, Rubina Khatun, 18, Rina Begum, 16, Mukta Akter, 19, Munni Akter, 22, Eti Khatun, 21 and Rexona Akter, 17. All of them are residents of Thakurgaon.

They said they were lured to Kolkata two years ago with promises of good jobs. But police arrested them from Kolkata Rail Station.
