716 more dengue patients hospitalised

No dengue related death was recorded during the period

Seven hundred sixteen new patients were hospitalised with dengue in different hospitals and clinics across the country in the last 24 hours till Monday morning, showing a six percent fall from Sunday's figure.

Among the new dengue patients, 300 were diagnosed in Dhaka while 416 others outside the capital, said sources at the control room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

No dengue related death was recorded during the period.

Currently, 3,091 dengue patients are being treated at hospitals and clinics across the country while 1522 in Dhaka and 1,569 in the other parts of the country.

The government said 77,230 people were hospitalised with dengue since the beginning of this year. Of them, 73,942 made full recovery.

Since January, the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) received information about 197 dengue-related deaths. So far, it has reviewed 101 cases and confirmed 60 dengue deaths.
