7 hurt in a blast at Tejgaon workshop
The reason of the blast and extent of damage could not be known.
At least seven people were reportedly injured in an explosion at a workshop in Tejgaon industrial area of the capital on Saturday.
The incident took place around 4pm at the factory, leaving some seven people burnt. They were rushed to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery after rescue, reports Somoy TV.
However, a duty officer at Fire Service Headquarters' control room, Md Rasel told The Business Standard that they received a message stating that a workshop of Maple Leaf International experienced a massive explosion in Tejgaon.
But when the firefighters reached the area, the situation was already brought under control.
The workshop owners informed the firefighters that two sustained injuries in the explosion and were taken to hospital, he added.
However, the reason of the blast and extent of damage could not be known.
