645 carton of cigarettes seized at Ctg airport

Customs officials detained four passengers with 645 cartons of cigarettes at Chattogram's Shah Amanat International Airport on Tuesday.

The price of the cigarettes is worth around Tk12.90 lakh.

Acting on a tip-off, a team off National Security Intelligence (NSI) seized the cigarettes from Hossain of Fatickchhari, Mohammad Bodi Alam of Double Mooring, Mohammad Minhazur Rahman of Lohagara and Enamul Haque of Chakaria of Cox's Bazar when they landed at the airport in the port city by an Air Arabia flight.

Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Custom House Riyadul Islam said they will take action according to the customs laws.
