6 held for attacking SI in Gazipur

Six people have been arrested in Gazipur in connection with attacking a police sub-inspector (SI) during a drive to arrest an accused.
The SI Rahim came under attack on Chandana Chowrasta of Gazipur City Corporation on Friday.
The arrestees are-- Saiful Islam, 30, Tushar, 30, Israfil, 30, Farid Mia, 25, Ala Uddin, 28, Milon Hossain, 29.
Police said when a team raided in a house near Dhaka-Mymensingh highway to arrest the accused following allegations of drugs and gambling, his family members attacked police, leaving the SI critically injured.
Being rescued by locals, he was taken to hospital.
In this regard, sub-inspector of Basan police station Al Amin, filed a case against 10 people for obstructing the work of the police.
Later, police in a drive arrested the six people in the evening, Basan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kamrul Faruk.
