48,403 Bangladeshi Hajis return home
A total of 49 Bangladeshi pilgrims - 33 males and 16 females - passed away in Saudi Arabia during this year's Hajj.
A total of 48,403 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have returned home from Saudi Arabia as of yesterday (10 June) following the completion of this year's Hajj held on 26 May.
"A total of 112 return flights were operated by three designated carriers - 48 by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 45 by Saudia Airlines and 19 by Flynas Airlines," an official said.
Hajj office said, so far, 3,915 Hajis returned under government management, while 44,488 under private travel agencies' arrangements, in 112 flights.
A total of 49 Bangladeshi pilgrims - 33 males and 16 females - passed away in Saudi Arabia during this year's Hajj.
Of them, 35 died in Makkah, 13 in Madinah and one in Jeddah, while no deaths were reported in Mina or Muzdalifah.
Besides, a total of 401 Hajis received treatment from various hospitals in Saudi Arabia, while nine Hajis were hospitalised.
Saudi Arabian medical centres provided treatment to 60,728, while IT help desk gave services to 27,102 Hajis in Makkah and Madinah.
This year's Hajj operations began with the first outbound flight on 18 April and concluded on 21 May.
The return Hajj flights started on 30 May and will continue until 1 July.
