4-member family meets tragic end in N’ganj

Four members of a family burned to death in a fire at Rupganj of Narayanganj on Friday night.
The deceased were identified as Masum, 40, his wife Shima, 32, their sons Russell, 17, and Rahmatullah, 10.
Abdullah Al Arefin, deputy assistant director of Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defence, said that the fire broke out at the house of Masum at around 9:30 pm on Friday in Kumartek area of Sector 11 of Purbachal after DESCO's high voltage live wire fell down on the roof of the house.
On information, three units of Purbachal Fire Service went to the spot and extinguished the fire.
The four members of the family burned to death in the fire, said the official.
Shah Nusrat, upazila nirbahi officer of Rupganj upazila, said that the investigation is underway.
