A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested three people in Gazipur's traffic police constable Sharif Ahammed murder case on Saturday.

RAB said, they killed the police constable due to personal conflict.

The arrestees are Moffazol Hossen - the prime planner of murder, and his two associates Masud Mia and Monir Hossen.

Some items used in the killing were also recovered.

Shafi Ullah Bulbul, commanding officer of RAB-1 briefed the reporters about the arrest at Kawran Bazar in the capital on Sunday.

Bulbul said, the murder was clueless.

"Police could not confirm his identity after his post-mortem and from his fingerprints. Therefore, he was buried as an unidentified person at east Chandna cemetery in Gazipur on March 8," he said.

On March 11, the Police Bureau of Investigation identified the victim through fingerprints, he added.

RAB started a shadow investigation to unveil the mystery of this murder case. Moffazol Hossen hired a professional killer named Masum. Moffazol budgeted Tk10,000 for the killing and paid Tk5,000 as advance, said Bulbul.

"As per their plan, Moffazol picked up traffic police constable Sharif Ahammed in a bus from Vogra bypass area on March 3 midnight. And then they killed him brutally. After the killing, they threw the dead body near National park," he mentioned.

Earlier on March 4, a slaughtered body was recovered from in front of Bhawal National Park in Gazipur. Later, the victim was identified as Sharif Ahammed, a constable of Gazipur Metropolitan Police's traffic south division.
