Three members of a family were killed as their private car plunged into a roadside ditch in Daudkandi upazila of Cumilla today.
The deceased are Sirajul Islam, 80, his wife Jahanara Begum, 70 and their grandson Abu Bakar Siddiq, 12. They hailed from Faridganj upazila of Chandpur.
Officer-in-charge of Daudkandi Police Station Rafiqul Islam said, "The incident took place at Kajirkona area at around 6am, when they were going to their village home in Chandpur from Dhaka."
"Police recovered dead bodies and the car," he added.
