A 22-member delegation, including three British parliamentarians, participated in a campaign to clean the Surma river in Sylhet's Chadnighat on Monday.
The three English legislators are Paul Scaly, Bob Blackman and President of the Conservative Friends of Bangladesh, Anny Margaret Maine.
They participated in the cleaning campaign as part of the "Clean Surma Green Sylhet" project.
The British lawmakers said the way youths had come forward to protect the environment was really an example.
They said they were proud to be part of this movement.
The members of the British parliament also assured of providing all kinds of support to the Sylhet City Corporation in this regard.
Coordinator of the project, Asad Uddin, said the lawmakers were included in the campaign to encourage locals to keep the city clean.
