Police have arrested ABM Mosharraf Hossain, training affairs secretary of BNP, along with two other leaders of the party, from the National Press Club on Friday noon.

Ramna Zone Senior Assistant Police Commissioner SM Shamim confirmed the arrest to The Business Standard. However, he did not mention the name of the other two leaders.

On Tuesday, police filed a case with Shahbagh Police Station after two policemen were injured in a clash with a group of BNP leaders and activists near the Supreme Court premises during a demonstration seeking the release of the party chief Khaleda Zia.

Later that night, police arrested Ishtiaq Aziz Ulfat, the president of the Nationalist Freedom Fighters Dal from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the case.

On Thursday, police arrested BNP joint secretary general and former general secretary of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) GS Khairul Kabir Khokon from the front gate of the Supreme Court around 10am in the case.

Hours later, BNP vice chairman and former minister Major Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram was arrested from the same place in the same case. At around the same time, Mostafizur Rahman, former candidate of the Chhatra Dal to DUCSU election, was also arrested.

Meanwhile, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sayed's court granted bail to Major (Retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed and Khairul Kabir Khokon, hours after their arrests.

BENEATH THE SURFACE
The Dazzling Fake Flowers: Is there any alternative to artificial flowers while decorating homes, showrooms, offices and business establishments? Fresh flowers are undoubtedly beautiful, but they dry out quickly. Hence, the demand for plastic flowers is rising day by day. Traders said these lifelike silk flowers usually come from China and Thailand. The photo was taken from the 29th International Trade Fair of the Chattogram Chamber on Friday.
