20 cops hurt in Brahmanbaria road crash

At least 20 policemen were injured when a passenger bus collided with two pickup vans carrying policemen in Brahmanbaria on Monday morning.

Brahmanbaria Sadar Model police station Officer in-Charge (OC) Abdur Rahim confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.

The accident took place on the Cumilla-Sylhet highway in Pirbari area of the district town when the 'Econo Paribahan' bus collided with pick-up vans carrying the policemen, leaving them injured.

The police members got out of the district police lines in two pickup vans for the purpose of duty.

The injured were later rescued and taken to Brahmanbaria General Hospital.

The bus was seized and its driver was arrested.
