Two members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) were shot and injured by militants today during an anti-Yaba operation at a Rohingya camp in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar.

The incident occurred on December 30 at around 5pm.

The RAB members who were shot are a soldier named Imran and a corporal named Shahab Uddin.

Additional Superintendent of Police Shah Alam confirmed the event to the media.

He added that the two were moved to the Combined Military Hospital after first being admitted to Teknaf Marine City Hospital.

A team from RAB-15 raided the Rohingya Camp in Teknaf after sources told them that Yaba was being traded there.

The RAB team went to the camp expecting to arrest Yaba dealers and dacoits Anowar Selim, 40, and Shonaiya, 32, when armed militants shot at them and fled to the nearby hills.
