State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali today said Biman Bangladesh Airlines will get two more new Dreamliners this year and three Dash-8 planes to its fleet by June, 2020.

He made the disclosure at the inauguration ceremony of International Federation of Airline Pilots Association's Asia-Pacific region conference at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka.

Earlier, Biman signed a deal with Canadian Commercial Corporation to buy three Dash 8 Q400 aircraft from Canada's Bombardier to transport passenger on short routes.

"National flag carrier Biman is expected to get two more new Dreamliners with the latest technology to its fleet by December this year," Mahbub said.

He also added, "We have already taken initiatives to ensure the security in all our airports."

Construction of the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Extension Program has already begun, Mahbub further said.

Construction of new terminal buildings and the expansion of the runways of Sylhet Osmani International Airport, Cox's Bazar Airport, Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong and Jessore Airport are underway, he added.
