2 killed in Gazipur train accidents

Two men were killed in separate train accidents in Gazipur on Saturday night.

One of the deceased was identified as Jamal Uddin, 50, son of Sirajuddin of Sholasia village under Mymensingh's Gafargaon upazila.

Joydebpur Railway Junction police outpost in-charge Abdul Mannan said that Jamal was hit by a Dhaka-bound Diesel-electric Multiple Unit (DEMU) train while he was crossing rail line in Kalapatti area around 6:15pm and died on the spot.

Besides, an unidentified 25-year-old youth was killed after being hit by the Dhaka-bound Padma Express train while crossing the railway line in Salna area at around 8:45pm.

Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
