2 held with 65,100 yaba tablets in Teknaf

RAB also confiscated Tk7,70,000 in cash from one of the suspects

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained two including a woman with a total of 65,100 yaba tablets and Tk7.7 lakh in cash after conducting two separate drives in the Teknaf region of Cox's Bazar.

The detainees Fatema and Nur Alam both hailing from the Teknaf area. 

Confirming the matter, RAB 15 Teknaf camp In-charge Lieutenant Commander Mirza Shahed Mahtab said, "RAB detained Fatema with 62,400 yaba tablets and Tk7,70,000 during a drive at a house in Teknaf upazila on Saturday. 

RAB also seized three bullets, a motorbike, two locally made weapons and a mobile phone after searching the house.

In another drive, a RAB team on Friday night raided a house in Natun Pollan village on a tip off and detained Md Nur Alam with 2,700 yaba tablets.

Both of them were taken to Teknaf Model police station and two cases have been filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act.
