Fifteen more people died in the Covid-19 ward of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in the last 24 hours.

Among them, seven were coronavirus positive while eight people died with symptoms.

Eight of them were from Rajshahi, six from Chapainawabganj and one from Natore district.

Rajshahi Medical College Hospital Director Brig Gen Shamim Yazdani said, "43 people have been admitted in the last 24 hours. So far, 297 people have been admitted against 271 beds. 17 of them are in ICU."

He added that 143 new infections were detected in the last 24 hours after testing 373 samples in two RT-PCR labs in Rajshahi. The infection rate is 38.34 percent.

A full lockdown was imposed on Rajshahi on Thursday that will be enforced from Friday 5pm to 17 June midnight.
