Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) will deploy 100 air-conditioned buses in December this year to bring back discipline on the city streets.

The routes where AC bus service will be available from December are Kalurghat-Airport, Hathazari-Laldighi and Vatiyari-New Market, said Mayor A J M Nasir Uddin in a meeting with German Ambassador Peter Fahrenholtz at CCC office on early Monday.

Nasir also told the ambassador that this will help reduce the pressure on comparatively smaller vehicles.

The CCC has made several plans to bring back discipline on the street, the mayor said while answering a question of the German ambassador about traffic management. "All the preparations have been made to implement the plans," said Nasir.

Chattogram city lost its beauty as there were billboards all around in 2015. It was challenging to remove almost 4000 billboards from the main roads.

Metrorail, waste management, revenue collection and infrastructure development were also discussed at the meeting.

Many German companies want to invest in Bangladesh, the ambassador told Nasir.

The CCC Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Shamsuddoha, Cheif Engineer Lt Col Sohel Ahmed, City Mayor Secretary Md Abul Hossen were present at that time.
