At least 10 workers have been injured as a part of an under-construction building collapsed in Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) on Tuesday.

Sheikh Md Nasir Uddin, officer-in charge of Ishwardi Police Station, confirmed the information, saying the incident took place around 10:30am inside the construction project.

Mamun, one of the injured workers, has been taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital while the others are being treated at local hospitals.

The OC said, "An iron rod frame was being prepared inside the construction site under the supervision of a contractor named Nikim Atomstroy."

All of a sudden, a part of the iron frame collapsed, leaving the 10 workers injured.

Other workers rushed there, rescued the injured and sent to the hospitals.

However, the RNPP authority is yet to disclose issue any official statement in this regard.
