At least 10 passengers went missing as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch at Janiagaon area in Sadar upazila of Sunamganj today.

The incident took place at around 11 am when the bus was travelling from Sylhet to Sunamganj.

Resident of the area and witness of the incident Abdul Alim said, "We saw five people got out from the vehicle. They said that 15 other people were trapped inside."

Sunamganj Deputy Commissioner Abdur Ahad said, "After receiving news from the locals, I came to see the rescue operation. There were 20 passengers in the bus. Of them, 10 people remained missing. The rest have been rescued."

Police, fire service and local people are continuing rescue operation.
