1 killed, 6 injured in Pabna road crash

Fire service officials rushed to the spot and took the injured to hospital while the ambulance driver died on the way

A man was killed and six others injured in an accident between an ambulance and a truck in Pabna on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Raju Ahmed, the driver of the ambulance owned by Pabna Science and Technology University.

The accident took place on the Dhaka-Pabna highway when the ambulance collided head-on with a cargo truck coming from the opposite direction, leaving the ambulance driver, two students, truck driver and helper, and two pedestrians seriously injured.

Fire service officials rushed to the spot and took the injured to a hospital while Raju died on the way.

The ambulance was returning from the Pabna General Hospital carrying students of the Pabna university after treatment of one of their mates.

Among the six, Rokonuzzaman, a student of the physics department, was referred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
