মাদারীপুরে আধিপত্য বিস্তারকে কেন্দ্র করে দুইপক্ষের মধ্যে সংঘর্ষ হয়েছে। এ সময় শতাধিক হাতবোমার বিস্ফোরণ ঘটানো হয়। ২১ ফেব্রুয়ারি রাতে দুই ঘন্টাব্যাপী চলে সংঘর্ষ।
