We hope that companies and businesses with good record of paying taxes and contributing to the country’s growth will get priority

We think this government initiative is an inclusive one.

We welcome the announcement of financial assistance to different segments. These initiatives give a picture of inclusive support from the government."

It is also good news that the Bangladesh Bank is working to support the agriculture sector.

We hope that companies and businesses with good record of paying taxes and contributing to the country's growth will get priority.

The government's response has met most of the demands of micro, small and medium enterprises earlier put forward by the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI).

I hope that the package and its social safety features will safeguard the informal sector too.

The ongoing coronavirus fallout is a wakeup call for businesses that are out of the banking channel. Now they will have to seriously consider coming under the formal banking channel.

I request the mobile financial service providers to reduce service charges for the next six months as the government has chosen the digital platform as a major mode of fund disbursement.

Shams Mahmud is the president of DCCI
