Pope Francis has praised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's visionary leadership in advancing Bangladesh's unprecedented development.
He came up with the praise to Bangladesh's newly appointed ambassador to the Vatican, Mostafizur Rahman, when he presented his credentials as a non-resident ambassador to Pope Francis at the Vatican on Saturday.
Pope Francis also requested the Ambassador to convey his greetings to the President and the Prime Minister on his behalf.
Following the proper hygiene due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a ceremony was held at the Apostolic Palace in Vatican City to present the identity cards.
In addition to the Bangladeshi ambassador, the ambassadors of eight other nations to the Vatican presented their credentials to the pope.
After receiving the credentials, the pope made a brief statement to the newly appointed ambassadors, according to a statement sent from Geneva.
He called on all nations to build a global culture of service based on mutual cooperation, compassion, humanity and justice in the face of the pandemic.
