While most countries have laws against the act of sexual assault and violence, many of them are insufficient, inconsistent, and not systematically enforced

People mostly hear about rape and sexual assault against women, men around the world also experience sexual harassment, sexual assault, and rape every day.

Study says that women aged 16-19 are four times more likely to be victims of rape or sexual assault, and female college students ageed 18-24 are three times more likely to experience sexual assault. Transgender people and those with disabilities are twice as likely to be victims of sexual assault or rape.

Most countries have laws against the act of sexual assault and violence, many of them are insufficient, inconsistent, and not systematically enforced.

While the number of rape incidents and sexual violence have been on the rising in many countries in recent times, there are countries that have no reported incidents of rape also.

The World Population Review published a list of countries based on the number of rape incidents per 100,000 citizens in 2020. The figures do not take into account rape incidents that go unreported to the police.

According to the list, Liechtenstein stands at the top of list of countries with least rape cases reported. The European principality has a population of 38,128, and no cases of rape were reported in 2020.

Egypt stood in second in the list with the rate of rape incidents reported per 100,000 people at 0.10. The country has population of 102,334,404.

The south-eastern African country Mozambique stood at third place, with 44 rape incidents reported in 2020 till now in the country. Mozambique has a population of 31,255,435, the rape incident rate being 0.20.

The Central Asian countries of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Tajikistan stood respectively on the fourth, fifth and sixth place in the list.  Azerbaijan has a population of 10,139,177, has had 16 rape incidents reported and the rate stands at 0.20.  With a population of 2,963,243, there have been 11 rape incidents reported in Armenia placing the country's rate at 0.40. Tajikistan's rate was 0.50, the country of 9,537,645 people has had 27 rape incidents reported in 2020 till now.

The seventh spot holder in the list – Lebanon, has a population of 6,825,445. With 19 rape cases reported, the rate in the Middle-Eastern stood at 0.50.           

At eight place – Turkmenistan had a rate of 0.60, with the rate being 27 in the country of 6,031,200 people.

Serbia has been listed ninth in the list     with the rate being 0.70. The country of 8,737,371 people has seen 72 rape incidents reported          in 2020 till now.

Albania reported 24 rape incidents in 2020, with a population of 2,877,797, the rate stood at 0.70 – placing it on tenth spot in the list of countries with least rape incidents reported.

 The list continued with Yemen, Nepal and Syria's rape incident rate being 0.80; Japan and Guinea's rape incident rate stood at 1.

The World Population Review listed Bangladesh's rape case incident reported per 100,000 at 9.82 with 11,682 rape cases reported in 2020 till now.
