Three people, including two Bangladeshi siblings, were killed in a road accident in the United States on Tuesday.

The deceased are Mozammel Haque Russell, 28, former publicity secretary of the United States Chhatra League and his younger brother Himel Akram Joy, 25, and the driver of the other vehicle, an 81-year-old man.

Two others, including their younger brother Anisul Haque Apel, were injured.

The incident took place in the town of Rochester around 1.30pm local time while they were returning from Buffalo to New York.

According to police sources, Mozammel, his two brothers and a friend went to see Niagara Falls in Buffalo, New York. From there, on their way back to New York, they reached the town of Rochester, where they were involved in a horrific road accident.

According to the police investigating the accident on the highway, the 81-year-old man was driving in the opposite direction of the ongoing traffic for about 6 minutes before the accident.
