Suspended assistant commissioner Urmi summoned in defamation case
A Dhaka court today (8 October) summoned Tapasi Tabassum Urmi, the suspended assistant commissioner of Lalmonirhat, in a defamation case. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Zakir Hossain passed the order, accepting the defamation case filed against Urmi for allegedly making derogatory remarks about anti-discrimination movement martyr Abu Sayed and others. She has been asked to appear before the court on 28 November in the case filed by Gono Adhikar Parishad higher council member Abu Hanif.
