The Young Tigers beat the Islanders Sri Lanka by 5 wickets in the 2nd match at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna.

Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team took 2-0 lead in the five-match Youth ODI series thrashing Sri Lanka by a huge 161-run in the 3rd match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Thursday.

The Young Tigers beat the Islanders Sri Lanka by 5 wickets in the 2nd match at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna last Monday as the first match was abandoned at due to cyclonic storm Bulbul at the same venue last Saturday.

In the 3rd match in Chattogram, a brilliant century by TowhidHridoy helped Bangladesh to pile up a massive 340 runs for 7 in stipulated 50 overs after Sri Lanka sent the hosts to bat after winning the toss.

Towhid remained unbeaten on 123 runs off 98 balls smashing 8 fours and 6 sixes, TanzidHasan scored 60 runs off 53 balls, captain Akbar Ali made 52 off 43 balls and MahmudulHasan Joy contributed 52 off 64 deliveries.

Later, TowhidHridoy was adjudged man of the match,

DilshanMadushanka and KavinduNadeeshan took two wickets each conceding 65 and 66 runs respectively.

Chasing a huge target of 341 runs, the Islanders were all out for 179 in 31.2 overs.

NavodParanavithana scored the teams highest 50 runs off 32 balls, AvishkaPerera added 30 runs and Mohamed Shamaz 29 runs.

Shoriful Islam and TanzimHasanSakib picked up two wickets each conceding 50 and 46 runs respectively.

The remaining two Youth ODI matches will be held on November 17 and 19 respectively at the same venue in Chattogram.
