Women’s cricketers all set for Bangladesh Games

The three teams - Bangladesh Red, Bangladesh Green and Bangladesh Blue - comprise local cricketers with the matches scheduled to take place in the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

The 9th edition of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Games is all set to begin from March 6 with three women's cricket teams participating in the 50-over cricket tournament. 

The three teams - Bangladesh Red, Bangladesh Green and Bangladesh Blue - comprise local cricketers with the matches scheduled to take place in the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. 

With the teams having reported and checked into their hotel rooms in Sylhet, they will get three days to practice and prepare themselves.

The first match will have Bangladesh Red taking on Bangladesh Blue while the second match will be on March 8 between Bangladesh Green and Bangladesh Blue.

The third match will be between Bangladesh Red and Bangladesh Green and the top two teams will qualify for the final on March 12. 

The Bangladesh Red team will have national team regulars Sharmin Akter Supta, Nigar Sultana Joty (the wicket-keeper), Lata Mondol and Fahima Khatun.

The Bangladesh Blue team will have big names Salma Khatun, Jahanara Alam and Fargana Hoque Pinky and looks like the favourites in the tournament. 

The Bangladesh Green team has Panna Ghosh, Rumana Ahmed and Khadiza-Tul Kubra as the players that one will have to watch out for.
