Shakib loses IPL contract with Sunrisers Hyderabad

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Sunrisers Hydrabad have terminated their contract with Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan.

This comes after Shakib was banned for a year by the International Cricket Council for failing to report multiple approaches from a bookie.

As per the laws, Shakib was initially given a two-year ban, but that was reduced by a year as he accepted his fault here.

The ICC also removed Shakib from its players' ranking list in all three formats for this period.
