High officials of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) want Mushfiq to travel to Pakistan and was told that he (Mushfiq) might lose his place in the XI if he refuses to travel.
The Business Standard understands that the veteran batsman had a meeting with the Head Coach Russell Domingo and Chief Selector Minhazul Abedin on Monday. They conveyed the Board's message to Mushfiq.
A source close to the team confirmed TBS that Mushfiq is adamant that he will not travel to Pakistan. Even after the meeting with the Head Coach and Chief Selector, the diminutive right-hander is holding onto his previous decision.
Prior to the Pakistan series, BCB informed the players that they can choose to take part in the series.
Mushfiq took that option.
But later, BCB President Nazmul Hassan stated that he expects Mushfiq to travel to Pakistan as he was under BCB contract.
