Paceman Jasprit Bumrah finished with 4-56, with spinner Ravichandran Ashwin taking 3-35. Debutant Mohammad Siraj bagged two.
Marnus Labuschagne was the top scorer with 48 to his name, Travis Head bagged 38. Steve Smith went for a duck.
