On day one of the ongoing Test match, all the Bangladesh batsmen except Tamim Iqbal got good starts but couldn't really convert them into big ones. Shadman Islam was the only batsman to bag a fifty.
The southpaw notched up his second Test fifty but couldn't score more than 59. His innings of 59 runs came off 154 deliveries and he batted for 235 minutes.
Shadman's dismissal was questionable though. He was trapped LBW to Jomel Warrican which seemed to have missed leg stump but Shadman and his partner Mushfiqur Rahim didn't ask for a review. Hawk-eye also confirmed that it was missing the stumps by a long way.
Shadman, despite being disappointed, has said that this is part of the game and it was his decision not to review. "I thought the ball was in line and would hit the wickets. Mushfiq bhai (Mushiqur Rahim) asked me about that and I said that it might be hitting. That's why I did not take the review," he said.
"Yes, it's definitely disappointing. But it's part of the game and I must move on," he added.
