Four members of the Bangladesh Women's football team have tested positive for Covid-19. They are- Krishna Rani Sarker, Monika Chakma, Rituparna Chakma and Nilufa Yesmin Nila.
Despite testing positive, they are keeping well having mild symptoms. They have isolated themselves at the Bangladesh Football Federation's (BFF) residential camp and are taking necessary treatment.
Head coach of the Women's team Golam Rabbani, regarding this, said, "We had the players in camp screened just after they came here. Those who tested positive have isolated themselves. They are keeping fine. They are receiving treatments on a regular basis. The process of having them screened again is underway."
All of the four players are playing for Bashundhara Kings this season. The camp was called off after the government had announced lockdown. Including them, 21 of the national team players are playing for the Kings this season.
After the Bashundhara Kings' camp was called off, the Women footballers were taken to the BFF building where they were screened. That's when these four players tested positive. The Women's Football League was called off on April 5 due to Covid-19.
