FIFA, AFC qualifiers: Bangladesh beat Muscat Club 3-1 in practice match

Touring Bangladesh National Football team beat Muscat Club by 3-1 goals in their first practice match in Oman on Thursday.

In the day's match, Nabib Newaz Ziban, Biplo Ahamed and Towhidul Alam Sabuz scored one goal each for Bangladesh in the 12th, 28th and 65th minutes respectively while Tareq scored face-saving goal for Muscat Club in the 17th minute from a penalty.

Bangladesh reached Muscat last Monday to play their away match of the joint qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023 against upper-ranked Oman on November 14 at 9 pm (BST) at the Seeb Sports Stadium in Al Seeb.

Ahead of the match, Bangladesh booters now undergoing a 10-day training camp there and scheduled to play one more practice match against local football club on November 9.

Earlier, Bangladesh have been placed in Group E of the AFC Cup with Qatar, Oman, Afghanistan and neighboring India.

The red and green Bangladesh team started their campaign with a 0-1 goal defeat against Afghanistan in the 1st match in the Tajik capital of Dushanbe on September 10, conceded a 0-2 goals defeat against Asian champions Qatar in the 2nd match in Dhaka on October 10 and played to a 1-1 draw against India in their 3rd match in Kolkata on October 15.

In the remaining group matches, Bangladesh will play Afghanistan on March 26 next year in Bangladesh, Qatar on March 31 in Qatar, India on June 4 in Bangladesh and Oman on June 9 in Bangladesh.
