Ebadat and Khaled did not want to bowl much before, reveals Rahi

Abu Jayed Rahi, Ebadat Hossain and Khaled Ahmed have always been considered to be ideal fast bowlers for Tests. Rahi has been a permanent fixture for some time now. Ebadat is also gradually making a mark. Khaled has represented Bangladesh before in the longest format.

There are quite a few similarities between these three pacers. All three are right-arm fast bowlers and trying to find their feet in Test cricket. Interestingly, all of them hail from Sylhet. So they maintain a very friendly relationship.

Rahi, Ebadat and Khaled practiced together in Sylhet when there was no opportunity to practice on the field during the shutdown. In this mission, Rahi, who is the more experienced campaigner, showed the way to Ebadat and Khaled. This is what he is used to doing. Rahi revealed that Ebadat and Khaled did not want to bowl much before.

Bangladesh team has been practicing ahead of the first Test against the West Indies. After training at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Friday, Rahi said, "I have said always said that the more you bowl, the more you will learn. Ebadat, Khaled did not want to bowl much before. But what has happened now is that when we play first-class cricket, we want to bowl a lot."

Although they maintain a great relationship, there is a sense of healthy competition. "We have a healthy competition among ourselves," Rahi said. The reason why we have a great advantage is that Sylhet division usually prioritises fast bowlers in first-class cricket. That's why we are here in the Test set-up."

All of them usually play Tests. Hence, they have to wait for their turns as Bangladesh don't play much in this format. At this time, they continue to practice to keep themselves on the right track. "We continue to practice and motivate ourselves. I, Ebadat and Khaled kept on practicing so that we could adapt quickly as soon as cricket starts," Rahi concluded.
