Controversies and Shakib Al Hasan have been hand in hand for quite a long time.

The all-rounder got involved in a controversy after he had breached the bio-bubble but got away from punishment.

Shakib landed in hot water again after losing cool in the match between Abahani and Mohammedan.

Shakib kicked the stumps in anger and later threw them as he wasn't pleased with an on-field decision.

He was involved in verbal spats with the umpires and Abahani coach Khaled Mahmud.

But the BCB and the CCDM, the hosts of the tournament, will wait for the match referee before deciding on punishing Shakib for the misdemeanour, confirmed CCDM chairman Kazi Inam Ahmed.

"There is usually a lot of excitement in matches between Abahani and Mohammedan. We watched what Shakib Al Hasan did. You all watched it because it was streamed live. It was unfortunate. These things can happen in heat of the moment. But we always hope that the players keep emotion under control. Basically, the umpires and the match referee will hopefully submit a report today. There are rules and you have to accept whatever happens," Inam said.

"Decisions may not always go in favour but we expect senior players to keep their emotion under control. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. They are professional players and it won't set a good example," he added.

However, Shakib apologised for the inappropriate behaviour on the field.
