Cricketers have started to return to practice after a gap of four months because of the outbreak of Covid-19. Ten of them started practising from July 19 as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) made four grounds across the country available for practice. Cricketers were supposed to continue practising till 26th of July but the board extended it to July 28 at their requests.
The number of cricketers increased to 13. Wicketkeeper batsman Anamul Haque Bijoy, the latest cricketer to enroll himself, joined on Monday. He did a running and gym session in the Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. But things seemed slightly difficult to the 27-year old batsman after such a long break.
"It's great to be back to the field. I've been indoors for the last four months. There is nothing like practising in Mirpur. It was slightly difficult today for me," said Bijoy.
The practice sessions haven't been extended at any ground barring Mirpur. The cricketers who are going to be part of the extended session are Mushfiqur Rahim, Imrul Kayes, Mehedi Hasan Rana and Anamul Haque Bijoy.
