8:38 pm

Bangladesh are just 4 wickets away from their series victory against Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka are 6 down for 111 after 32 overs. They still need 136 more runs from 18 overs at 7.55 runs per over.

Shakib and Miraz picked up a brace each while the left-arm pacers Shoriful and Mustafiz bagged one each.

This will be Bangladesh's first bilateral series victory over Sri Lanka in ODIs.

7:40 pm

Sri Lanka are 3 down for 71 chasing 247 runs in the second ODI.

Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Shakib Al Hasan picked up a wicket each.

Shoriful bagged his maiden ODI wicket by sending Lankan skipper Kusal Perera back to the pavilion.

5 bowlers have been used for Bangladesh so far.

Sri Lanka need 176 more runs from 30.3 overs at 5.77 runs per over.

5:51 pm

Centurion Mushfiqur Rahim was the last man to go as Bangladesh were bundled out for 246 runs in the second ODI at Mirpur.

They still had 1.5 overs left to bat.

Mushfiq was the sole anchor of Tigers' innings as he reached his 8th ODI hundred after fighting against all the odds.

Mahmudullah Riyad accompanied Mushfiq well in the 5th wicket partnership and scored 41.

There was only one 50+ partnership in the innings.

Dushmantha Chameera and Lakshan Sandakan picked up 3 wickets each for Sri Lanka.

This is Sri Lanka's do or die match in the series.

5:25 pm

Mushfiqur Rahim reached his 8th ODI hundred. He is now unbeaten on 108 off 116 balls.

Mushfiq came to bat when Bangladesh were struggling early in the innings. He kept his nerves calm and played a mature innings.

He also had to fight with the rain. Rain halted the play twice and another delay is imminent as it's been drizzling ever since the play restarted.

Bangladesh are 228 for 7 after 45 overs.

4:45 pm

Rain has been imminent for quite some time now and it has started to pour down at Mirpur.

Earlier, the play was delayed due to light rain but resumed soon after. Hardly 2 overs could be played after the short interval.

It's now raining cats and dogs and the play won't resume anytime soon as it seems.

Bangladesh are 213 for 7 after 43.3 overs.

Mushfiqur Rahim is unbeaten on 96 with his partner Saifuddin on 8 of 21 balls.

3:55 pm

The ongoing ODI between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka may be stopped for a while as the sky is getting darker with every passing minute.

There was a weather forecast of rain due to the cyclone "Yaas".

Meanwhile, Bangladesh are 7 down for 185.

Mushfiqur Rahim is batting on 76 off 98 balls. He made an 87-run partnership with Mahmudullah Riyad for the 5th wicket after surviving early damage.

But Sri Lankan bowlers came back strong and struck thrice.

2:15 pm

Liton Das wasted yet another opportunity. He had the stage set to score big and answer to all the criticisms that had been coming for the past few days. But he failed. He failed miserably.

Liton was dismissed in quite an innocuous way.

It was a length ball outside off, turning away. Liton wanted to cut it for four but ended up playing it straight to point.

Mosaddek Hossain then joined Mushfiq in the middle and he also went back to the pavilion scoring 10.

Bangladesh are 74 for 4.

1:15 pm

Skipper Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan were dismissed in the same over of Dushmantha Chameera.

Both were trapped LBW in Chameera's double-wicket-maiden over.

Tamim seemed to have a blistering start with three boundaries in the first over, but he couldn't last long. Sri Lanka went for a review after he was adjudged not out, and the decision was overturned.

Shakib went for a duck.

Bangladesh are 15 for 2 after 2 overs.

12:30 pm

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first in the second ODI at Mirpur.

Left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam makes his ODI debut as he replaces Taskin Ahmed. Mosaddek Hossain comes into the side in place of Mohammad Mithun.

An ODI comeback after nearly two years for Mosaddek Hossain, his last ODI was also against Sri Lanka way back in July 2019.

Sri Lanka are unchanged.

The Tigers will be desperate to win the match and seal the series today.

A win today will ensure Bangladesh's series win and top spot of the ICC CWC Super League table.

Bangladesh: 1 Tamim Iqbal (capt), 2 Liton Das, 3 Shakib Al Hasan, 4 Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), 5 Mosaddek Hossain, 6 Mahmudullah, 7 Afif Hossain, 8 Mohammad Saifuddin, 9 Mehidy Hasan, 10 Shoriful Islam, 11 Mustafizur Rahman
