5:01 pm

The match ends in a draw an hour earlier thanks to the heavy rain at Pallekele.

No century for Tamim Iqbal, but he's played an excellent hand to ensure there was no late drama after Bangladesh lost those two early wickets.

So finally, Bangladesh bag some WTC points after 5 straight defeats. But this also ensures Bangladesh remain at the bottom of the WTC table.

Also, after 28 straight result Tests, we have a draw on Sri Lankan soil.

4:31 pm

The rain started pouring down soon after tea was called and it just got heavier now.

The whole ground is covered.

According to ESPNCricinfo, there are huge pools of water on the covers, and even if it stops, a re-start will take 40 minutes at the least. By which time light will begin to be an issue.

A draw is imminent right now.

A draw means Bangladesh bag their first World Test Championship points after playing 6 matches. This will also ensure Bangladesh will stay at the bottom of the WTC table.

3:32 pm

Bangladesh have gone to Tea as they managed to score 100 runs for the loss of 2 wickets.

Tamim and Mominul's unbeaten 73-run partnership has all but ensured this Test match will end in a draw.

Tamim has been impressive in the second innings and he bagged yet another half-century. He played shots with control and authority while Mominul accompanied him throughout.

Tamim is unbeaten on 74 from 98 deliveries and Mominul has bagged 23 from 86.

The playing conditions require the teams to play on until the start of the last hour, after which they can agree to a draw at any point.

1:39 pm

The game has suddenly turned around its head as Bangladesh lost two early wickets in their second innings.

Saif Hassan, who was out for a duck in the first innings, managed to score just one run before returning to pavilion.

Shanto became the fifth Bangladeshi batsman to be dismissed a duck followed by a century in the same Test match.

Suranga Lakam picked up both the wickets.

Bangladesh are 27 for 2 and trailing by 80 more runs.

1:15 pm

Sri Lanka declared over lunch with a 107-run lead under their belts as Bangladesh come on to bat in their second innings.

Bangladesh will have to bat through the rest of the day to draw the match from here on.

12:31 pm

Bangladesh bowlers picked up 5 wickets in the first session of the fifth day.

Taskin Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers as he sent back both the overnight batsmen back to the pavilion within the first hour of the day's play.

Taijul and Ebadot picked up a wicket each and there was a run-out thanks to Miraz's brilliant presence of mind.

Sri Lanka are currently 648/8.

Sixty-eight overs remain after this, with Sri Lanka leading by 107.

10:51 am

Taskin picked up the wicket of Dimuth Karunaratne and both the overnight batsmen are now sent back to the pavilion by the fast bowler.

Karunaratne scored his career-best 244 runs from 437 balls.

He's batted for 698 minutes.

Sri Lanka are currently 547 for 5 and leading Bangladesh's first innings total by 6 runs.

10:39 am

The 345-run partnership between Dimuth Karunaratne and Dhanjaya de Silva has finally been broken by Taskin Ahmed.

This duo batted for more than 90 overs together.

Silva went back to the pavilion for 166 runs while the skipper Dimuth is unbeaten on his career-best 244 runs.

Sri Lanka are just 5 runs behind Bangladesh's first innings score now.
