Bangladeshi women archers Ety Khatun, Mahanaz Akter Monera and Beauty Ray, failed to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics 2020 as they were eliminated from the Continental Qualification Tournament (CQT) of the 21th Asian Archery Championship at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Thailand on Thursday.

Bangladeshi women archers had a chance to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics 2020 from women's recurve division "quota" by winning Continental Qualification Tournament (CQT) of the Asian meet, apart from Bangladeshi Ruman Shana, who was directly qualified for the biggest sporting event of the world.

Among the three Bangladeshi archers of recurve division, Ety Khatun was eliminated from the round of 8 (Pre-quarters) after conceding 6-5 setpoints defeat against Loc Thi Dao of Vietnam.

She defeated her compatriot Monera by 6-2 set points in the round of 16 after beating Mamatkulova Aiturgan of Kyrgyzstan by straight 6-0 sets points in the round of 24.

Another archer Beauty Ray beat Soldatenko Anastasiya of Uzbekistan by 6-0 set points in the round of 24 but she conceded 5-6 setpoints defeat against Tukebayeva Farida of Kazakhstan in the round of 16.

A 19-member Bangladesh Archery team took part in the 21st Asian Archery Championships in Thailand as a part of their preparation for the upcoming 13th South Asian (SA) Games beginning in Nepal on December 1
