Bangladesh have lost opener Shadman Islam in the very first over of the first day as they trail by 341 runs at lunch against Afghanistan.

Coming to bat after restricting the Afghans to 342, Shadman edged a delivery outside off stump to Afsar Zazai of Ahmedzai to go back for a duck. Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar then ensured that the team went to lunch with no more casualties.

Earlier on the day, Afghanistan started the day on 271-5, with Asghar Afghan and Afsar Zazai unbeaten on 88 and 35 respectively. Taijul sent back Afghan on 92 as his mistimed sweep went straight up in the air and Mushfiq duly took the easy catch. Afsar Zazai then was bowled off a brilliant Taijul delivery before Rashid Khan started to attack and took the Afghans beyond 300. Qais Ahmed was the next to go as he was grabbed at silly point off Shakib.

Shakib then picked up Ahmedzai as the batsman inside-edged the ball to Soumya Sarkar at slip but initially was given not out. Shakib decided to review and Ultra edge showed a spike that overturned the decision. But Rashid Khan continued to hammer the ball and reached 50 in no time as Afghanistan approached the 350-mark. But Mehidy picked up his first wicket of the innings to dismiss the Afghan captain as Afghanistan were bowled out for 342.

Rashid scored 51 as Taijul picked up four wickets with Shakib and Nayeem picking up two each.
