Bangladesh all-rounder Afif Hossain said he is optimistic about doing well in Sri Lanka tour.

He will fly to Sri Lanka on either Sunday or Monday with other four cricketers.

Recently, Afif returned to the national side after two years and did well in T20Is. The 20-year-old is now upbeat to show his prowess in 50-over cricket as well.

"They're (Sri Lanka) a competitive opponent. If I can do better in this series, it'll boost my confidence," Afif told the media on Saturday at the national academy ground in Mirpur.

"We have prepared ourselves as much as possible. Now, the focus will be on playing good cricket in Sri Lanka. We'll be looking to win all games in this series," he said.

Initially, Afif was considered as a T20 specialist. But on his debut back in 2018 against Sri Lanka, Afif failed in his first chance. But he did well on his return against Zimbabwe last month when he struck a match-winning fifty at Shere-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

"I can't see where I am better, which format suits me well. But I'll try to deliver my best cricket wherever I get a chance," Afif replied when asked about his thoughts on his favourite format.

The one-day series between Bangladesh A and Sri Lanka will be held on October 9, 10 and 12. While the first two games will be played on Hambantota, the last game will take place in Colombo.
